Nida Butt

Nida Butt is an award winning Theater Director, Producer and Arts Manager. She earned her degree in law, specialising in human rights law. She later received a three year certification as an Arts Manager at the prestigious John F Kennedy Center for Performing Arts. She set up Made for Stage Productions in 2007– a theater company, and in 2011 co founded the MAD School – a non for profit arts organization aimed at fostering and developing the local arts community. Made for Stage Productions first commercial production CHICAGO got the ball rolling for theater in 2008,and played a significant roel in reviving theater in Karachi. To date her productions have been enjoyed by tens of thousands and have played in Lahore and Karachi. MAD School remains another feather in her cap, as it has realized several notable projects such as Karachi Mubarak & I am Karachi Music Festival, free arts education programs such as Music on Campus & Karachi Stars, Pakistans first acoustic orchestra, Braadri Broadcast and several other performing arts related projects.. Butt has been awarded several awards throughout her career, including the Women of strength award and the Trailblazer award. She is also one of the founding members of the I Am Karachi organization.
