Zoya

Zoya is a young film maker who was also on the team of ‘Joyland’, Pakistans winner at ‘Cannes Uncertain Regard’ As well as Kamli. She has worked with vetrans of the industry as well as on newer productions. Zoya Hassan is a Lahore based filmmaker. Extremely passionate about storytelling, she graduated with a distinction in filmmaking from the University of Karachi in 2018 and since then has worked on multiple feature films. She has a special interest in how space and audio contribute to the story experience. In this the audio components of the stories as well as flood warnings are played in a specially designed space. The spaces in this installation give a different aspect to how the stories are felt, related to and heard. The stories are in different languages as well as different points of view of those who have experienced the devastation of the floods.
