Amra Alam

Amra Alam is a celebrated author of over 80 books for children. Her story book “Jhakkad” has been published in 12 different regional languages in the Indian subcontinent. She was also part of Oxfam’s anti-honor killing campaign in 2008, where she wrote stories based on real life accounts of affected families from Quetta. Working with UNICEF, She developed and authored Pakistans’ first “speaking” book for children. The book is used to inform parents and children about the importance of Polio Vaccines. Amra received the Anita Ghulamali Award for Best Story from UNESCO and ITA in 2014. Along with her story writing Amra has penned a number of popular theatre and TV plays
