Maheen Mohammed

one of the pioneers of teaching secular mindfulness practices in Pakistan. She has been offering retreats, circles, and courses focusing on mindfulness, self-compassion, and connection since 2013. Maheen is passionate about guiding and accompanying people as they learn to meet themselves and their experiences with kindness and curiosity. She remains committed to her own personal mindfulness and self-compassion practices, and considers herself to be a life-long learner. Maheen is also one of the co-founders of the Karachi Sangha and the annual Karachi Wellness Festival. Maheen is a Trained Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) Teacher, a Certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher after completing the two-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program (MMTCP) with Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield, and a Certified Mindfulness Teacher - Professional Level (IMTA CMT-P) through the International Mindfulness Teachers Association

Hope in a suffering world

Inspired by the work of environmental activist and Buddhist scholar, Joanna Macy, this session will explore how we can meet the pain and suffering of the world with resilience and hope. In this 90 minute session, there will be periods of guided meditations, small group shares and group reflections. Given this, doors will close at 3pm and no entry will be permitted once the session begins.
