I'm Seema Iqbal, an independent film maker and storyteller from Gilgit Baltistan based in the Hunza valley. I graduated in Mass communication at Karakoram International university Gilgit. Furthermore, I'm more interested in film making and documentary production than journalism.I am madly passionate about film making. I have worked on multiple short films as director, cinematographer and editor. Among these short films, I've won 3 film-making awards. I won my first award from Purazam Pakistan where we got the third position in the student category. In the documentary we showed the struggles of a female student in covid. Moreover, the second win was at the Bam -e -duinya film festival in best woman in film category and reconnect film award 2022. To add more, most recently, I've won award from Hunting Patakha pictures grant with collaboration with British council & Scottish documentary institute. Furthermore I've also worked as a correspondent at maati TV from Gilgit Baltistan. Apart from this, my photographed pictures are selected for the world democracy movement. I feel honoured to have worked with people like Sharmeen Obaid chinoy and other great people. It's has been a great journey where I have grown as a person and I've come so far from where I was. All these years of film making have completely transformed my life.
