Rafat Yasmin is an experienced professional working as an Advisor for Gender and Social Inclusion on the Aawaz II programme of the British Council. She brings a diverse background of experience with national and international organizations, focusing on democratic governance, gender equality, social inclusion, community engagement, and electoral reforms. Over the years, she has actively contributed to public discourse on social inclusion and youth engagement, both in Pakistan and internationally. Her work spans human rights, policy advocacy, and youth-focused civic engagement, and she has participated in legislative reform processes related to women’s and transgender rights, civic participation, and broader democratic reforms.

Each individual needs to act and speak against GBV. Aawaz II PSMs promote positive message to address GBV and child marriage and highlights how positive messaging can change local discourse leading to wellbeing of women, girls and other groups.Aawaz II PSMs are 2-3 minute long videos promoting behavioural change against GBV and child marriage. 3 videos of Aawaz II on GBV and child marriage will be screened followed by interactive discussion with participants.
Baithak
The session highlights achievements of community led behavioural change initiatives for addressing GBV and child marriage. Aawaz II communities share messages on the negative consequences of GBV and child marriage such as physical and psychological harm on women and girls. Community volunteers, from diverse groups will highlight best practices which worked for attitudinal shift in local communities against GBV and child marriage. Youth volunteers from KP and Punjab will share how their voluntary awareness raising sessions resulted changing social norms for redressal of GBV and child marriage issues.
