Dr. Asma Manzoor is a Professor and the Director of the Centre of Excellence for Women’s Studies (CEWS) at the University of Karachi, where she leads Pakistan’s pioneering institution dedicated to gender research and education. A prolific researcher, she has authored numerous studies on gender-based violence, women’s economic empowerment, labour rights, social justice, and the psychological and social well-being of Pakistani women. Under her leadership, CEWS continues to offer BS, MA, MPhil and PhD programmes, shaping future scholars and practitioners in Women’s and Gender Studies. She also oversees community-focused initiatives, such as medical and awareness camps—including breast cancer awareness programmes—for female students and staff. Through her academic work, public engagement, and institutional leadership, Dr. Manzoor plays a vital role in advancing women’s rights, gender equity, and social justice in Pakistan.
