Jahanzeb Javeed (Zabo)

Jahanzeb Javeed (Zabo) is a prominent member of the transgender community from Toba Tek Singh. Despite facing numerous challenges, Zabo persevered in her educational journey and successfully earned an MA in Teaching Education.

Instead of conforming to traditional livelihoods often associated with transgender individuals, Zabo pursued diverse career paths. She worked as a teacher in schools, and later provided home tutoring services to support herself.

Beyond her professional achievements, Zabo is a dedicated advocate for the rights of her community. As a volunteer with Aawaz Aagahi Center, she effectively utilized this platform to campaign for the social inclusion of not only the transgender persons but also other vulnerable groups, including women and people with disabilities. Zabo also coordinates with government departments for enhancing their community engagement, and against harmful practices such as gender based violence and child marriage.
