Artivism Academy - Edifying arts for activism, advocacy, and social change - is a platform dedicated to encouraging social change, strengthening arts for social change, empowering individuals, and deepening commitment to important causes. We aim to inform and engage society about social issues, harmonize social activists within the movement, express and reinforce values and ideas, and communicate movement ideals effectively to the wider population. Through our work, we seek to enact movement goals, historicize the history of social movements, set a new emotional tone, critique movement ideology, foster collaboration, and utilize various artistic mediums, such as filmmaking, theatre, music, open mic sessions, comics, flash mobs, and painting, to spread awareness on different SDGs components, socio-economic and political landscape, break stereotypes, dispel myths, and create a safe and inclusive space for all. Artivism Academy is the social enterprise of the Institute for Social and Youth Development (ISYD), serving as a dynamic platform that leverages artistic mediums to drive activism, advocacy, and social change. While ISYD focuses on empowering youth and women to actively participate in decision-making and policy-shaping, Artivism Academy amplifies this mission by using the power of arts to raise awareness, challenge stereotypes, and foster a more inclusive society. Together, they create a harmonious synergy of education, empowerment, and creative expression for impactful social transformation.
