Farida Shaheed is a Pakistani sociologist and feminist human rights activist, promoting cultural rights and addressing issues of gender and class inequality. In 2012, she was appointed the first United Nations Special Rapporteur in the field of Cultural Rights.She is also the Executive Director of Shirkat Gah, a leading women's resource centre in Pakistan, and has over 25 years of experience in advocacy, research, and policymaking.
