Moneeza Hashmi is trustee faiz foundation. she retired as first female director programmes ptv after serving for more than 4 decades. she was the only female general manager of lahore tv. she has represented ptv on national international forums across the world in all continents, served as president commonwealth broadcasting association for three terms as the only female and pakistani to hold this post, has worked as gender trainer and media consultant to all major international organisations such as US AID, British Council, UNDP, UNICEF, UNESCO, GIZ, UNFP, JICA to name a few. at present she is creative media head of kashf foundation and working on media segments relating to gender empowerment. she has won several national and international awards for her work on portrayal of women in media. she is the winner of president of Pakistan’s pride of performance award 2002.

    In recent years, we have seen a boom in festivals in the larger cities of Pakistan. Many of these festivals are curated by powerhouse ladies with immense knowledge to share. They have built platforms and continue to raise voices that need amplified and liven up the city's cultural landscape. Differing in festivities, demographics, and topics, these festivals have become a celebrated mainstay of our cultural calendar. How do these festivals come to be, what drives the curators, and how can audiences help sustain these festivals in the long run? This also looks at how women curate for the female demographic building in sections that will engage with all the (familial) paraphernalia that women travel with in Pakistan especially. How curating for families gets built into the conversation as that how women might move freely in these spaces.
