Moiz Tirmizi

Moiz Tirmizi is a passionate filmmaker who graduated from the National College of Arts in 2023 with a major in film. His journey in the world of cinema has been truly remarkable. His thesis short film, Barzakh, has been receiving recognition and is being screened at prestigious film festivals. It's a project that holds a special place in his heart as it allowed him to explore the depths of storytelling and showcase his directorial and writing skills. While Moiz's love for filmmaking is undeniable, his body of work also reflects his dedication to women-oriented stories. Inspired by the incredible women in his life, particularly his mother, he has also delved into the world of documentaries, shedding light on women's health and wellness. In addition to his work behind the camera, Moiz has also had the opportunity to contribute as a production designer on various film projects. It's a role that allows him to bring his creative vision to life, shaping the visual aesthetics of the films I'm involved in. Beyond the realm of filmmaking, he is also deeply passionate about the fashion industry. As a stylist and art director, Moiz merges his love for storytelling with the world of fashion, creating captivating visuals and narratives that leave a lasting impact.

    A young woman named Pakeeza (Pako) serving as a nurse in the gynaecology department of a government hospital is fighting her case of khula against her husband. It’s been more than a year since her case is being dragged in the court, meanwhile her chronic illness (Endometriosis) spirals and she is adviced to get a hysterectomy (removal of uterus) by her doctors. She being a married woman is legally not in the position to make this decision for herself without the consent of her husband. Pakeeza desires to be a mother but her inability to reproduce because of her condition and being a gyne nurse herself, assisting women in labour, keeps her in a constant state of predicament and wretchedness of her unmet desire.
