Dr. Maryam Rab

Dr. Maryam Rab has worked in the field of education and women empowerment for over 28 years. Her experience is primarily in the public service sector in Pakistan, she has made significant contributions to higher education management and leadership. As a Chevening Scholar, she obtained a master's degree in Education Management from King's College London, and later completed her doctorate in Education from the prestigious Institute of Education, UCL, London. Dr. Rab played a pivotal role in establishing Pakistan's first state women's university, Fatima Jinnah Women University, thereby providing young women with access to higher education. She is an ACU certified trainer and a mentor for women in the field of higher education leadership and management. Throughout her career, Dr. Rab has been actively involved in campaigning for women's empowerment in South Asia. Her expertise lies in international collaborations and partnerships in higher education. Her research focuses on education, inclusion, women, and leadership. She has published works on topics such as the experiences of international students in UK universities and the significance of women as role models. In her current position as the head of research programmes for the Global Research and Insight team, she leads the Next Generation Research Series, which aims to empower and uplift young people specially women by conducting groundbreaking research on their needs, potential, and aspirations. Dr. Maryam Rab firmly believes in the ideology that real feminism is about making other women's lives better.
