In an ever-evolving cityscape, the fusion of the new and old constructs a tapestry of transformation. Particularly in regions like Pakistan, architectural identity – once steeped in layers of diverse tradition – now bears the unmistakable imprint of colonialism and Western modernity. My research delves into the architectural transition within cities, moving from traditional to modern styles and the impact of this architecture in flux. These newly established structures aim to imbue cities with a more global outlook, endeavoring to shift the narrative from conservatism to progressiveness. My work also challenges the notion of architectural identity, questioning whether this fusion engenders a sense of displacement and estrangement among inhabitants. These fragment sculpture aspire to provoke contemplation about the evolving urban landscape and its influence on societal belonging.
